Biography

Dr. Minnie Hoang is an adjunct professor at Louisiana State University in Shreveport. In addition to this role, she serves as an assistant professor and MPA coordinator at Southern Connecticut State University.

Dr. Hoang has a profound interest in Nonprofit Management. She researches and publishes her research works on topics such as human resource management, organizational behavior, community engagement, and resource mobilization. She actively contributes to the field through her involvement in professional associations such as the American Society for Public Administration (ASPA) and the Association for Research on Nonprofit Organizations and Voluntary Action (ARNOVA). Dr. Hoang has been recognized with several prestigious awards, including the ASPA Founders’ Fellowship, the ARNOVA Diversity Scholarship, the ARNOVA Early Scholars Innovative Research Award, UT Dallas Best Teaching Award for Teaching Assistants and SCSU Outstanding Graduate Advisor Award. She holds leadership positions such as President of Association of Fundraising Professionals – Collegiate Chapter at UTD Dallas, Co-chair of ASPA Section on Professional and Organizational Development, vice chair of ARNOVA Emerging Scholar Section. With several years of practical experience in the nonprofit sectors, Dr. Hoang brings real-world insight into her academic work. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes critical thinking, civic responsibility, and the development of practical, community-oriented solutions. She seeks to empower her students to become informed, compassionate, and engaged citizens who contribute meaningfully to the public good.

Dr. Hoang's research and teaching interests include nonprofit–community engagement, resource mobilization, human resource management and leadership, organizational behavior, and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).
